This is me with my guitar that I really don't play, because I can't. The guitar was bought about 2 years ago in December of '06. At the time I thought I could master it pretty easily. It looked like a good guitar at first but it really is not one. The strings hot the fret board and cause a lot of unwanted vibration.
Anyway, this photo described how I feel about it. I like it, but it still gives me trouble.

Journey to the center of the .. ummm. me??

Hello ALL !!!

Hope everyone is hail and healthy.

I am taking this course called Isha Yoga.
Here is some information about it
http://www.sadhguru.org/portal/index.php/content/blogsection/8/49/

Today we had an 8 to 5 class with an initiation to shambhavi mahamudra. You might have heard about this, it is an intense breathing technique devised to clarify your mind of all the clutter and leave you in a state of pure bliss!
I have got to say, the pure skeptic that I am, this left me a pure "blissful soul" in the end!
I've never felt anything like it before. There are many benefits to doing this everyday, which we are required to do for the next 40 days, twice a day and then the next 6 months at least once. I need to wake up much earlier now to do this as well as the usual short 2nd degree Reiki. To tell you the truth, I felt pure energy flowing through my hands(no kidding!) when I was doing this mahamudra. I couldn't feel my hands for a while after I finished.Maybe it was the combined effect of Yoga and Reiki! wow...
This course I am going to isn't really a "Yoga-class" so to speak. It is very much a journey into the inside and self realization. I am not going to claim I am an enlightened being or anything so don't get worried, I won;t be off the the foothills.............just yet!
It borders equally on the physical and non-physical aspects of Yoga. As far as I can say, the physical Yoga part of it is just a set of aasanas ending with the Shambhavi Mahamudra. There is so much more to this course though. It is funny I am saying this but I've been a better person in the last 5 days than I can remember!
I have two more days to go. Today was the main thing really.. something equivalent to attunement in Reiki.
The main ashram is near Coimbatore. Check out the website at http://www.ishafoundation.org/ ..

Alright then hope you are all doing well!

Regards,
Vivek

I need to restart writing stuff

I just got inspired by this really close friend of mine to start writing. Again.
I would think of things to write about, but would never get around to doing it. I have doing problems. Oh these great ideas go to such a pitiful waste that it pains me to even think of them anymore.
Ok so here goes, I will restart this blog with all the confidence I have and show with dogged character that the do-able will be done indomitably.
I think the last blog that I write was about 3 years ago when this whole "blogging" thing was such a fad and people just had to go and create a blog for themselves and use the word "blog" once every two days.
I read it again sometime ago, it sounded like an angry young man's complaint about small things in life. The language was a bit too harsh and indecent ,not really palatable to the innocent ears (eyes??). Hmm I just realized I used three sense references in one sentence.

The time is 2008 February. The US presidential race is heating up faster than we can say
"Look !!Global Warming!". There is a lot of unrest around the world and it's been happening at such a fast pace. Somehow, there's a lot more happening now than ever before! Well that's just because we are forced to pay attention as we grow up and are facilitated by technology that feeds information to us like a huge cauldron of info stew pouring endless amounts of knowledge into our hungry brains. (again multiple sense references!..)

For me really the most important change that's happened is that I've changed my diet slightly. I've switched to brown rice and sugar, looking at food labels more closely than ever before and starting to understand that the lesser number of ingredients something has, the better it is.
I dread buying ready to eat food anymore. The up shot of this is that I find myself in the kitchen more often that I would like to be, washing dishes and cooking fresh food. For instance I made a nice carrot soup today. What!!! I would have never made things like that about a year ago.

I came across nature.org ( I knew it existed but never really went to it and read it!). I must say it has quite a few things that interest me. I should also credit oculture.com for giving me time on the web to spend usefully.

OK, I just realized I'm writing a diary about myself. Neither am I being poetic nor addressing a specific issue. So I will leave it at this and continue tomorrow.

desi

desi desi everywhere!
Man i just managed to sit through this really badly made desi movie called legally desi. The title has no relevance to anything legal in the movie. I saw it because someone said it was shot on my school's campus UIC. Ughhh .. just a few shots of school that I see everyday..
Man where did they get those actors..ABCDs acting like desis and vice versa with a lot of swearing the the midst of all the corny acting.
It's that whole desi thing isn't it? All the american desi movies have just one theme.. some indian grad student is made fun of or is told to act 'cool' and stuff .. u know.. gel with the crowd etc and naturally falls in love with some ABCD girl who's going around with a bunch of guys.. and in the end he ends up doing some fairytale shit to save her.... awww.. enough already !
Anyways I had to watch this simply coz we dont have any cable no more. These mongrels took it away at my apartment. I hate one of those management females, she drives me up the wall. smiles when you go in and asks you in this very stern and know it all tone "How may i help you" but Oh my goodness she is so gaudy as she disforms her facial muscles while trying to tell you something you dont wanna hear.
It's 4 in the morning i dont; even know what im doing anymore
bye

Test

Hi this is a test. Well actually this is the first time I am blogging. I don't know what it is to blog.
